Inclusive education and community.
The Studio City Co-op serves Studio City, Valley Village, North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, Toluca Lake and the surrounding areas. We are located in the southwest corner of the grounds of Beeman Park in Studio City.
Exploration
Our children learn through self-directed and inspired exploration. We layer planned projects with multicultural and social justice themes to allow the children to discover ways they can serve and appreciate their community.
Who We Are
As a parent-led cooperative preschool, our school is made up of an inclusive group of families who want to be an active part of their child’s early education as well as be a part of a community of like-minded parents.
Inspiration
We educate by encouraging students to become interested in the world around them. Using weekly and monthly themes to highlight diverse world leaders and cultures, we embolden our students to appreciate their differences and celebrate them.
How We Teach
Our families understand the importance of play in a child’s early educational development and prefer organic, parent-led/child-directed play-based education to a traditional academic approach.
Communication
Between the ages of 3 and 4, language acquisition happens at an astonishing pace. Our children are encouraged to express themselves verbally, as well as through art and play. Aiding in identifying their emotions, we allow them to feel heard and valued leading them to have self confidence and agency.
